Molecules, research, and science behind a new generation of biotechnological developments.
Peptides are chains of amino acids that can act as signals or interact with different biological processes. Their structure, sequence, and ability to be modified make them a subject of research in areas as diverse as metabolism, hormonal signaling, tissue repair, and biotechnology.
Learn about each category and discover what makes these molecules so interesting for science.
01 — ✨ BEAUTY AND SKIN SCIENCE
Skin is also a field of research
Skin is a complex tissue in constant renewal. Its structure depends on an interaction between cells, extracellular matrix proteins, and different biological signals such as tissue repair and the production of structural components of the skin.
-GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu, also known as copper tripeptide, is a small copper-bound peptide that has been studied primarily in the context of skin and processes related to the extracellular matrix.
Area of interest:
Skin · Extracellular matrix · Cell biology · Tissue repair
02 — 🔥 METABOLISM AND BODY COMPOSITION
Metabolism is regulated by a complex network of hormonal signals that influence appetite, glucose, energy storage, and other physiological processes.
In recent years, peptides and molecules related to metabolic signals have gained enormous scientific relevance.
-Tirzepatide
Tirzepatide is a molecule that simultaneously activates GIP and GLP-1 receptors.
This dual action modifies signals related to glucose metabolism, appetite, and food intake.
-Retatrutide
Retatrutide represents a different generation of metabolic research: it is a triple agonist of GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon.
It is currently still being investigated in phase 3 clinical trials for obesity and overweight.
-Tesamorelin
Tesamorelin is an analog of growth hormone-releasing factor (GHRF/GHRH).
it is not a drug approved simply for "weight loss." The approved indication for Egrifta WR is the reduction of excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV and lipodystrophy, and its label specifically states that it is not indicated for weight management.
Area of interest:
Metabolism · Hormonal signaling · Energy regulation · Body composition
03 — 💪 HORMONAL SIGNALING AND MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT
"When research studies signals, not just muscle"
The growth and maintenance of muscle tissues are related to multiple hormonal and metabolic signals.
-CJC-1295
CJC-1295 is a peptide related to the signaling of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH).
Its scientific interest lies mainly in the study of how certain molecules can modify the signaling of the growth hormone axis.
-Ipamorelin
Ipamorelin belongs to the so-called growth hormone secretagogues.
Pharmacological studies have shown that it can stimulate GH release; however, this does not automatically mean that its use produces a certain aesthetic or athletic result.
-CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin
This combination brings together two mechanisms related to GH signaling and is therefore of interest for research into the growth axis and its physiological responses.
Area of interest:
Growth hormone · Endocrine signaling · Body composition · Muscle research
04 — 🧬 RECOVERY AND TISSUE REPAIR
Understanding how the body responds to damage
Tissue repair involves numerous processes: cell communication, cell migration, formation of new blood vessels, remodeling of the extracellular matrix, and inflammatory response.
For this reason, certain peptides have become the subject of preclinical research in the field of tissue repair and recovery.
-BPC-157
BPC-157 is an experimental peptide that has generated great interest due to results obtained mainly in preclinical studies.
Experimental research has explored mechanisms related to angiogenesis, fibroblast activity, and other repair processes. However, evidence in humans remains very limited.
-TB-500
TB-500 is related to research on thymosin beta-4, a protein/peptide involved in cellular processes.
Its scientific interest is related to mechanisms of cell migration, angiogenesis, and tissue repair, but it is essential to differentiate experimental results from sufficient clinical evidence in humans.
-BPC-157 + TB-500
A combination that brings together two molecules studied primarily within experimental research related to cellular processes and tissue repair.
Area of interest:
Tissue repair · Cell biology · Angiogenesis · Musculoskeletal research
05 — 🔬 COMBINATIONS
Research also studies how different molecules interact
One of the most interesting characteristics of peptide research is that molecules are not only studied individually.
Different combinations can also be investigated to understand how different biological mechanisms interact.
-CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin
Research related to growth hormone axis signaling.
-BPC-157 + TB-500
Research related to cellular processes and tissue repair.
-BPC-157 + GHK-Cu + TB-500
A combination that brings together molecules studied in different areas related to repair, extracellular matrix, and cellular processes.
Important: the combination of two or more peptides does not mean that there is clinical evidence that the combination is superior to each molecule separately.

🧬 WHY ARE NOT ALL PEPTIDES THE SAME?
-The sequence matters.
A peptide can be formed by a few amino acids, but the order, structure, and chemical modifications of these amino acids can considerably change their properties.
Therefore, two peptides can have very different structures and participate in completely distinct biological mechanisms.
-The administration route also matters.
A molecule studied topically cannot be automatically assumed to be equivalent when administered by injection.
Absorption, stability, distribution, and biological response can change depending on how it is administered.
-Quality also matters.
Chemical purity, molecular identity, concentration, stability, sterility —when applicable—, and the presence of impurities are fundamental aspects in the characterization of peptide products.
The FDA, for example, has raised specific concerns related to impurities, aggregation, and immunogenicity in certain composite peptide products.
IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT PEPTIDES.
IT'S ABOUT UNDERSTANDING THE SCIENCE BEHIND THEM.
Every molecule has a structure.
Every structure has properties.
Every property opens new questions.
At Propeptide, we want to bring you closer to that world from a perspective based on information, research, and transparency.
